Not every cloudy or dull-looking window is a cleaning problem. Some are a sign your windows themselves need attention, not just the glass surface.

Signs It's a Cleaning Issue

  • Cloudiness that's on the outer surface and comes off with proper cleaning.
  • Streaks, spots, or grime that's visibly sitting on top of the glass.
  • Haze that's worse after wind or weather events, better after a clean.

Signs It's Not a Cleaning Issue

  • Cloudiness between the panes: if you have double or triple-pane windows and see haze trapped between layers of glass, that's seal failure — the insulating gas has escaped and moisture has gotten in. No amount of cleaning fixes this.
  • Etching or permanent scratches: often from past improper cleaning (abrasive tools or harsh chemicals) — this is physical damage to the glass, not dirt.
  • Persistent fogging even when clean: another sign of seal failure rather than a surface cleaning problem.

What We'll Tell You Honestly

If we get on-site and it's clear your windows have a seal or structural issue rather than a cleaning need, we'll tell you — not charge you for a clean that won't fix the actual problem.
